RCCG Launches #PickThatTrash Campaign in Port Harcourt







Sunday 28th January, 2018, during the annual Holyghost Rally held by Region 5 of the RCCG at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Omagwa Port Harcourt, the Genera Overseer of RCCG, Pastor E. A Adeboye, launched the Pick That Trash campaign in the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

In his opening address, the regional pastor of RCCG region 5, Pastor Belemina Obunge recounted a noteworthy list of community service responsibility which the regional arm of the church has embarked on in the last one year, among which were El-Gibbor hospital which offers free medical care to the citizens of Rivers state, and also the rehabilitation facility for drug addicts that have turned a new leaf.

It was in this light that the PickThatTrash campaign was launched by the General Overseer during the program. In attendance was the Executive Governor of the state, Gov. Nyesom Wike, the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Ipalibo Banigo, the coordinator of Rivers State Waste Management Authority, Mr. Felix Obuah, among others.



The governor, during his speech commended the mission for its positive efforts in the state. He enjoined the mission not to relent on its oars in making the state better. He further said the state waste management authority will work hand-in-hand with the church to make Rivers State clean and green.




The General Overseer also encouraged the members of the church to imbibe cleanliness in all aspects of their lives; both in public and in private with the popular quote “Cleanliness is next to godliness”. 
The  Regional Pastor then presented the governor and his entourage with the stickers, face cap and T-shirts of the Pick That Trash campaign.
